Default adding passenger side mirror

I have a mirror that I want to install on the passenger side of my 75 911. It looks pretty straightforward but I do have a question: after I have drilled the holes, should I do anything to seal the edges of the bare metal in the holes before installing the mirror, such as priming or painting them?

Absolutely yes. POR 15 is probably the best system, but epoxy primer woukld be fine too. The mirror installation is pretty easy, once you find the right size hole saw(s). Measure 4X drill once. The real job is modding the wiring if you want the electric mirror to work. You need three bits of harness, one switch and have to remove both doors to get the harness through the door to the jamb. I think it was worth it, and was a fun challenge, but more involved than I thought.
I have all the relevant drawings; PM me if you want them.
