I have just been informed by a well-resepected Porsche shop that the wiring harness on my 95 993 suffered a severe meltdown and that I was lucky it did not cause the car to catch on fire. He said he thought there may have been talk about a recall on it at one time, but was unsure.

Does anyone have any info on wiring harness failures (or recalls) for this car or know of where I might be able to search for it?

Go to the 993 forum - there is a lot of info there. I think E.J. heads it up and spearheaded the recall.

Thanks for the info everyone. Sorry about posting in the wrong forum. I did find EJ's website & have joined the crusade to get more awareness about this problem. It is a serious problem that can cause the car to ignite, fortunately it was detected before that happened to my car.
