Although, the intelligent decision was to keep the miata as my track car and continue to drive my wife's 993 C4S as the autocross car. An entire engine for the miata from the junkyard is $350, tires are cheaper, basically everything is cheaper, it is the most forgiving handling maybe ever in a sportscar, the concept of missing a shift and blowing your engine is a joke with a miata ( you would have to be inebriated to do so)......I succumbed to my inner child and bought a 73 911 track car with a 3.0.. So despite my analytical nature being overwhelmed by my inner child I am thrilled.
For you Bay Area folks, I bought Ken Park's 911 (local time trial chairman) the car is beautifully set up....other than being sepia brown...although it does kind of grow on you. (hence my posts about the cost of repainting). I am in Ground School next week and Time Trial at Thunder Hill first week of August! Thanks for the advice I received here!
