The following auto industry article is speculating that Porsche is planning to announce a 4th line of cars, beyond the 911, Boxster and Cayenne.

Any ideas what this might be? It can't be the Carrera GT, as that would be a very small run - no need to warn of a large increase in parts...

Could be the new 928. I read some rumors that they were going to bring it back on the Cayenne platform. V8 and all that. Possibly all wheel drive as optional or standard. The fact that they're adding production capacity to the Leipzig plant, as opposed to the Stuttgart facility or the Boxster/Ikea factory in Finland might support that.
If the rumors of the cayenne with the TTV8 lapping a 996TT are anywhere near true, I'd hate to see the damage a new 928 on the same platform with the same engine could do. Aerodynamics can do wonders for performance.
And if they bring this car back, and if it's the badass that it might be, might there be a factory GT effort based on the platform?
I'm wandering a little too far for a Reuters feed, but it would be sweet.

Nah, that's not it. One model of the new 911 will get the Cayenne engine, but it will look essentially like the present 911, maybe a little wider and longer in the rear quarter to accommodate the BIG V-8.
I'm guessing that a 4th line of cars would be a smaller, less expensive ("entry level") car, since the so-called entry level Boxster is now $45,000+. Something in the $30K range. This is just a guess.
