Default Any experience with Motor Meister?

Just found out my 3.2 Carrera motor is blown after 200k of service.

Now I am doing research on my different options. Any thoughts on Motor Meister? http://www.motormeister.com/suz/911_...11_engines.htm

Two options from MM that I may consider are A). straight rebuild and B). 3.2 conversion to 3.6.

Thank you in advance for any advice.

Run, Forest, run!

Seriously....search the threads here and on the Pelican board. The reviews on MM are marginal at best, and downright horrible at worst. If you're serious about a top quality rebuild, there are many people on the west coast who can help. If you're willing to ship the engine, John Walker in Seattle or TRE Motorsports in North Hollywood/LA are top notch. There's also a guy who does mobile work in the bay area, and he's gotten great reviews. I think his name is Tom Ammon (Amon?), or something like that.

Bottom line is that you should probably stay away from MM. You might spend a little more money in the short term by having someone else do the work, but in the long run you'l be much happier.

YMMV. Good luck.

Unfortunately there is no "cheap" way to rebuild a 911 motor. Swallow hard, use a top shop, don;t cut corners and you will have an engine that will last 20 years. Just think of it as $500 a year, and it is a bargain....

Also, you might be able to find a good used 3.2. They would be $4.5K-6K plus maybe another $1K for incidentals. However, you stil have a 100+k miles used engine of potentially unknown quality, and there is alot of junk out there... for a few $K more do a top rebuild, and you know what you have. Good Luck

There is no way to do a cheap rebuild on a 911 engine. You get what you pay for. I did mine myself
and spent $5000 on parts and $1200 for machine work. If I had a shop do it you could add about
$3000 for labor. If they're selling you a rebuilt engine for $4000, what are they leaving out? good luck

Thanks for all the generous information. Now if you would send your donation to my Carrera Engine fund that would be even more helpful.

On a serious note, I have spoken to Tom Amon, previously of T&D. Any feedback on the guy? I googled, rennlist and Pelican searched without much result. Thanks in advance.

His friends post a pos. thread every week on Pelican. I'm not crazy about the advertising, but everything I hear about him is good.
