Just removed the half shaft off the 89 C4. Looks like the outer CV joint housing is bent so I'll be getting a whole new assembly. Vertex auto in Florida sells them for $180.00 (after return of core) and new is in the $340.00 range. Anyone BTDT? any big deal in going with the used? It does have a 1 yr. warranty.

Drew, personally, I would go with the reconditioned unit from Vertex. They are famous for providing cheaper alternatives to new/used parts.
Basically, they replaced the CV joints themselves, undoubtedly clad them in fresh boots and greased them up to go!
Good luck.

I've brought parts from Vertex. They are very reliable and have good prices. If it wasn't for places like Vertex,Doc & Cys,Tweeks etc. I wouldn't be able to afford to own a 911.
