F Porsche signature seats
I have seen several different seats with the signature F Porsche on the headrests. One was an 87 or 88 Carrera (Silver with silver gray interior) and the other an 82 911 SC (silver with a burgundy interior). Can anyone tell me what those two signature seats represent, i.e., Dr Ferdinand's 100th birthday, Ferry Porsche's birthday, or some other event? I have only seen them on 911's. Any help will be greatly appreviated.

The seats were standard in the "Ferry Porsche" edition 911SC, of which only 200 were made, to commemorate 50 years of the Porsche company. All 200 of the cars were finished in Meteor Metallic paint with full burgundy leather interior. The cars also had some special equipment including a rear window wiper and electric antenna.

In the case of the 1988 model, the seats were part of the commemorative edition signifying production of the 250,000th 911. The seats used a special blue metallic dye and had the signature embroidered in the headrests with white thread. I suppose they used Ferry's signature since he was the one largely responsible for the development of the 356 replacement.
