Thanks kcpsg. Lifting the front though sounds like it would be unstable by doing so on just the r/front side. I understand that the area just rear of the A/C condenser and forward of the fuel tank with a narrow piece of wood is a perfect central location. I have done this a few times recently and seems to work perfectly until the stands go in where you show.
By looking @ Bill Verburg's frame layout pic it would be location "C" and when you jack up from that point (using a small block of wood w/jack) you will find that the whole front end raises up together when the rear of the car is already lifted. I've never had any stability problems. But the reason I don't use the front location (behind the A/C condensor) is that, that is too low for me to get my floor jack under my front spoiler to jack from there.
Ifin you buy a car that the PO had used a nice floor jack at the passenger side where the oil lines run, be prepared to buy a nice Elephant Racing oil line from the thermostat to the front oil cooler on my 1988 Carrera.
