Looking thru the paperwork of the 83 sc I just bought I came across the window sticker and listed on it is Option Group R31 for $2,491.00

Someone a while back has in pen next to it written "16 Fuchs, Bilstein, etc." both of which the car has. But what is the "etc"?

Of course the original option code sticker is peeled off the hood and looks like it was never put in the owners manual.

I'd love to know if this was a factory group or a dealer group? Also what exactly does this group include?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Interesting note, the original price of 34,530 converted to todays value at eh.net averages out to around 70,000. Pretty much the price of a new 911.

My 80 SC's window sticker has a similar option group code. As far as I know, these were Factory option groups, not dealer installed.

Here were the options in 1980:
Sport Seats
Headlight washers
16" Fuchs
Fog Lights
Passenger Mirror
Auto Heat
Bilsteins
Rear Wiper
Sport Seats
Leather Seats
Sunroof
Spoilers (Not offered in 1980)
Limited Slip Differential

I think that is it.

looking at the optionlist that came with the car

Package R31 should include :

M474 Sport shock absorbers - Bilstein
and
M395 16´ light metal wheels - forged

that would pretty compare with the price ...
