OEM '74 muffler made by whom?
Does anyone know, FOR SURE, what brand of muffler Porsche will supply if I order a new '74 muffler at the dealer? I ask because I have seen a couple of substitutions from Porsche recently, and I don't want to pay $600 for something I can buy for far less from Pelican, etc. I'm going to use it with SSIs on my '83 Euro. I think that the OEM on my '83 is Bischoff, but my old '73, which still had the original muffler, had another brand, can't recall whether it was Leistritz, Eberspacher or something else. Thanks.

Tom,
If you haven't already, you might call Kenn at Reeves (800-835-9256 x299) and ask him if someone in the Porsche Atlanta warehouse can go out and look at it. The inventory people used to do that, don't know if they still do. A couple of years ago, we had difficulty sizing an o-ring (size shipped didn't fit what it was replacing), so they went out to compared o-rings, so I know they can do it.

Hey Chris,
How is the tone on that Dansk??
Just as quiet as the originl, or a little noisier?
Resonance?
I'm trying to figure out why the stock Porsche unit is nearly $900 and the Ansa or Dansk is under $300..As I need one for my 73
