That can be the problem . . .

My 2nd PPI (in the Florida Panhandle - not many specialist shops there) was pretty complete. Physical check, drive, accident & Bondo check, dropped valve covers for stud check. All OK. Then last, but not least, they did the compression & leakdown. Bad numbers again. 24% cyl 3. Since I was remote, I couldn't take a chance on a 'Techron run' to cure it, so I passed. So I paid $328 for a PPI that could have been stopped with a $75 leakdown test 1st. Maybe that's why I take issue with the order of things.

But I will bow to the superior knowledge above . . .

I see what you're saying Ian, but you know what will happen on the next car you PPI......The leakdown will be done first, come back fine, and then they'll find bondo all over the place!

Sometimes it seems you just can't win.
