Post Cleaning out Oil Cooler/ Lines

Does any body have a process/or what to use to clean out a front mounted oil cooler and oil lines? Can a cooler be cleaned or dipped like a radiator?

Hi,

I just sent mine off to be cleaned on monday as I am trying to track down a heating issue. I have a friend who is a service adviser as a car dealer ship and they flushed it through a cleaning solution to get all the gunk out (quite a bit of gunk came out apparently) so you might want to speak to a mechanic about it as I am sure it can be done.

GM dealers use a machine to flush out automatic transmission coolers. It uses a strong detergent and lots of pressure. It's highly effective, too. However, I would probably like to be sure that the tech gets all of the cleaner out, and fresh oil in.
