Guys... once again, thanks for all of your assistance!!! I have passed on the '88. Not only, after a night of sleep on it, but there are just too many unknowns and the best price H&S offered is $32.9k. Back to the hunting.

You did the best thing you could do. Walk away.

They're dreaming at $32,900 for an '88 with no records and stories.

You'll find the right car for you with a bit of patience.

Thanks Jay! Forgot to mention, if anyone knows where I can find a silver on black late 911, or up to a 964, please let me know.
Thanks.

There is a 1987 coupe at www.mcbmotorcars.com it has some miles on it, but supposedly a rebuilt engine and new clutch.

Dennis or anyone else that's interested. Here's the ad from the Salt Lake Tribune:

"88 Porsche 911 Carrera, 27,600 orig miles, 1 owner, fully loaded, immaculate, Black/Black, spoilers, ageless beauty, all options, must see 801-455-9213"

I did call the guy. It is a Targa and it was his fathers who lived in Las Vegas. He wanted $28K. He did not sound like he had any idea about the car what-so-ever. He said he wanted to sell it to invest the money elsewhere. I didn't inquire how he ended up with the car. He also stated it had been garaged. If any one is interested, I will take a look for you. If it appears worthy of further investigation for someone, I know a couple of great wrenches that know these cars well and will do a PPI.

Jim,
Thanks for posting the information. I will try to contact him. I may take you up on taking a look at the car. Thanks again, Dennis
