It's worth exploring, but at about $900 to start off with, the deal would have to be pretty amazing...

My 78 911SC with SSI's and Dansk two outlet muffler registers a touch over 94 dB at the Laguna Seca sound booth, witch is 50' from the straight. I have exhaust tips for the Monday's track day and I'll get a sound check to see how this works.

I'm sure I didn't pay $900 for my dual in/out Monty - this must be from the dollar being in free fall...

Here's the link to a site that has Monty mufflers. $860 for a single in, single out.

This subject has been beat up numerous times on Pelican (probably here too). Most recent debates there (these do get heated sometimes) seem to give the popular vote nod to Dansk. In fact on Pelican it's pretty much a given that you don't dis' Dansk, Steve Wong, H4's, Techron, Valentine, GWB or Wayne without risk of ostracision, LOL.

I put a Dansk premuffler and the single-out 84 mm sport stainless on my cab last year and completely love them. I've always felt that the 3.2's biggest weakness is that it sounds too polite with the stock exhaust. The Dansk gives just the right "burble" and "growl" (not sure that I agree with the comments about Dansk having a "metallic" sound) to the car without being overly intrusive - even with the top down at highway speed. In fact, I almost wish I had kicked it up to the dual-out, but that may be a bit much for a cab.

I prefer the OEMish look of the single-out but I also think that the SS Dansk "fits" the look/mood of the Carrera much better than the uninspired factory tailpipe. The SS outlet pipe particularily compliments polished fuchs IMHO.

I'll agree with purrybonker on this one - and even with the dual out in a cab - the sound is just right!

You can see what Steve W's Monty price is....
You can get the Dansk
You can get the mb911 - much cheaper -- research subjective opinion and some sound files on Pelican. If you got it and didn't like it, you could sell it and only be out say $100 if you do the install yourself.

Those are the 3 leading candidates IMHO.
Be sure that sound that is just right for others is just right for you.
The Monty has dyno info, and the mb911 doesn't (yet).

I was curious about the pricing, so I checked my records - I paid $760 for my 2 in 2 out Monty -- but that was 2 years ago. So, FWIW... prices seem to have gone up.

Got MB911's 2 in 2 out muffler on my SC.

All I can say is wow. The thing sounds increadible. Definitely makes you want to rev the engine.

A touch on the loud side, but there's almost no resonation. The sound is full-on, old school 911RSR noise---- simply beautiful.

I've got the Dansk dual-in/dual-out with SSI's.

Engine revs more freely, fairly loud. In my personal experience, the company (Dansk) stands behind the quality of its product too.
