I'm considering replacing the vinyl that surrounds the gauges in my 84. There are a few scuffs and scratches that I'd like to see disappear, but I am wondering how much effort it will be. If it is as much effort as I suspect, then the scuffs will pale in comparison.
I was also wondering if replacing the black vinyl with a color matched to the rest of the interior would look good or cheesey. I have all leather cork interior, but i have found a vinyl that is such a great match I used it to recover the rear deck and it looks awsome. I have enough extra to consider using it on the gauge pod, but I am suspicious of my own idea.
Advice, insights, pictures of similar mods would be appreciated.
