The PMO's are great. And I mean out-of-the-box great. They are 99% perfect as delivered.

I have a 3.0 with SSI's, dual in/dual out muffler, 20/21 web cams, and 40mm PMO's, all on a stock an otherwise stock rebuilt 82SC engine.

The thing boogies pretty good as-is.

The PMO carbs aren't $4k. They are about $2900 for the complete package.. and well worth it. While not as good as a TEC3 FI setup, they are probably 95% as good for 1/2 the price.

The package is good for at least 200RWHP (probably closer to 210RWHP)

Thanks, guys - for all the replies and info. I do appreciate the advantages of PMOs, but they are US$3k plus shipping, tax, tag, title, and a fuel pump - so US$3500 then. That's still a lot of bucks.
Look at it this way: the 73 911S (2,4L, 8,5cr, with similar ports to my 83SC) had 10 more hp stock than I have. Use that MFI at say $1k plus $1k rework, addDrCams S profile US$300 (I'd have to change cam profiles any which way I go), plus misc at $500 - that's ca US$2800 - still less than a box from PMO (or Steve). There's more to be sure, but cost/benefit and opportunity costs factored in make MFI a sound - if academic - argument.
Now, if anybody wants to go MFI to PMO and wishes to give me the MFI system that would be the best of both worlds, wouldn't it. 8-)

Good luck, John! I absolutely love the way an MFI motor runs when it's well adjusted (and in good condition). Nothing else like 'em, IMHO.
