Default 73T aftermarket AC vents ?

Note the row of vents under the dash: Is this an aftermarket thing ? The AC is stock, but I've never seen this before... Works wonders, the AC works in a long hood porsche, can you believe it ? But is this a common thing ?

Thanks !

Your A/C vent looks like it's in very good condition. Call Performance Aire in Anaheim, CA - they will tell you how to identify (factory, aftermarket, etc.) what you've got, and might even have a couple of tips regarding how to keep it working. Most cars that had that setup had it removed, mostly for cost reasons, long ago.

They appear to be factory. Ironically, the dealer-installed AC had a one-piece unit that combined the kneepads and the vents. But there are also aftermarket pieces that resemble the factory blower unit.

If the car has a front as well as rear condenser, with the front one in a recessed piece right in the nose of the car, with a dedicated fan on top of it, then it's probably factory-installed.

As Peter mentions, Performance Aire has the components to make the old AC actually function.
