Post Huntley Mass Air System?

I have been looking at the Huntley Mass Air system. Generally I know that the Autothority units were only getting 10hp. Huntley CLAIMS 58, but when you look at the dyno they posted the car was a modded Euro 3.2. Ignorning the exaggeration, this kit still got nearly 20 rwhp increase, which is signficant.

Does anyone have any experience and/or further knowledge about this kit?

Thanks!

Thumbs up

I had an autothority mass flow air, chip and B & B exhaust installed on my 86 911 3.2 coupe. I noticed a hude difference over the stock set up. I can't give you an h.p. gain but I would guess approx 20-25 h.p. I know that you get the best results with the addition of a tuned exhast system. I actually put in a dual tip exhaust, had the rear valance cut out proffesionally. I think you might be able to see it on my link below.

Chaz, thanks for the info. I already have the SSIs and aftermarket, free-flow muffler, so I should be fine on that end. Did you have the exhaust before or after the mass air system?

I had the exhaust first and then added the mass flow air & chip. I really noticed a difference when I added the mass & chip. Not so much in the low RPM's but at about 3500 RPM,s there is a pig difference. The car really seamed much more responsive. You will also get a cool noise from the additional air being sucked in via the big cone on the intake. I've got pics of my set up if you want them. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

I have the Huntley racing mass flow on my 87' The motor on this car was rebuilt and upgraded to 3.4 liters with 964 cams. I added the mass flow about a year later. The car is very fast and quite honestly I can't remember what it felt like before all of the upgrades. I have bought a new exhaust and plan on installing it soon. Hopefully this will be the final upgrade that makes all the difference. It is really hard to say if this system will hands down be better than other systems on the market. It was relatively easy to install (once I got the factory wiring diagrams)and works on the same principle as other mass flow systems. With the addition of the adjustable air/fuel regulator, the system seems to be fairly tunable, and was the reason I chose Huntley. The price was right as well.

Anybody else out there install the Huntley MAF? From their website it appears that a new chip is not included as part of the kit. They claim 58 HP with the MAF and a cat bypass pipe into a free flow style muffler. I e-mailed them and asked if they had any type of performance guarantee (such as the one offered by Performance Products on their MAF system).

Bill, try the Pro-M site, they make Huntley's system and sell it for A LOT less. The hp numbers are comparing a Tuned Euro with the system to a stock US 3.2. The actual gain was closer to 20hp.

You may also want to check out Split Second's site, great products PLUS a full array of piggyback controllers.
