Question CIS fuel pump on a 3.2?

Hi all, I am currently installing an '87 3.2 Motronic engine in my '75 911s. Quick question: can I use my old high-pressure CIS fuel pump or do I need to replace it with a lower pressure pump from the 3.2? I have received conflicting info on this. I have been told I need to change pumps because the motronic cannot handle the high pressure pump, but then I was told from a different source that there is a pressure regulator in the Motronic injection that will compensate. What to do??? <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" />

Thanks,

Chris:

I can tell you my experience in a related mod.

Previously installed a 3.2l Motronic in a 79 SC (CIS fuel pump) with no problems. Fuel regulator on fuel rail should be able to maintain the required pressure and desired flow. I'm now using same CIS pump on a 3.6l Motec with a Carrera Motronic fuel rail operaitng at 50 PSI without problems at 7000 RPM. I did have to perform fuel pump relay wiring mods for each mod.
