Post megaphones vs. 2 in 2 out sport muffler

How much louder would megaphones be than a 2 in 2 out sport muffler? I have seen megaphones with "cookie cutter" ends, is this for noise or flames? I plan on using 38mm I/D headers or early style SSI's, (I can't decide). <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

Hi Steve:

The "cookie cutters" were there for stiffening which reduced cracking, as well as straightening the exhaust flow as it leaves the end of the megaphone.

Megaphones are FAR FAR FAR louder than a sport muffler and not recommended for street use. Further, they really kill the bottom end and mid-range power, compared to a Sport Muffler.

Take it from me dude, i used to work for a porsche shop. And even though megaphones were a rare site, when i did see them on cars, they unbelievably loud. They were also exclusively on race cars only, not street (unless you don't mind going deaf)!
