Question Sound Pad

Do you need to do a half, or full engine drop to replace the engine sound pad? It looks soooo tight back there with the engine in.

Paul,

You didn't say what year 911 you have. On my 911SC, a partial engine drop coupled with removing the air boot on top of the fuel distributor gives plenty of access to the back. I don't have a/c or the air blower in the left hand corner, so if you have those there's a little more work to do. You probably already saw the partial engine drop article on tech.rennlist.com under 911 engines.

Why bother with it? Most 911's owners I know just cut off the loose section & go. Mine's been off for years. Beside, don't you want to hear that sweet sounding engine? I'm guessing without it the engine might run a tad cooler also...

Just my 2 cents.
