Default Pulsating Idle on 79 CIS 911???

I wish I knew how to rectify this problem, but I've just picked up a 79 911 SC w/119k, engine runs great after warm up but initial startup has the car pulsing at idle, and stalls---almost stalls when comingto a stop... I had this problem on another 79 911 I owned about 6 yrs ago, but can't remember how I cured it... It is a 3.0lCIS car, and is a US model (smog equipped). Anybody have any clues???

Thanks in advance for everyones help, it's been a while since I've visited and believe I'll be here more often now.

I would say look for intake and general airbox leaks. After stripping the manifolds and CIS completely from my engine and re-installing with new gaskets etc. I no longer have this problem.

I had a different problem - uneven idle when warm. Took it to the local BOSCH service center, they have pluged it to their smog test analyzer and adjusted it according the norm.
Now the car runs much better!

Try small adjustment on the Mixture screw (1/12 turn at a time). It helped on my SC. Not curred totaly, but warmup is mutch better, and it dont stall, any more. My mixture was a little to rich.
