Default Need specs re: temp sensor torque-quick!

Im replacing the cylinder head temp sensor on my '87 911 today and I was hoping someone can tell me the correct torque to use when installing the new sensor. Alternatively- can anyone direct me to an on-line source of this info? Google went ga-ga on that one-

TIA for any help-

Dan

Dan,
I checked my Bentley's, 101 Projects, etc and can't find a torque spec either. When I did mine, I think
that I just made it "tight>" Don't know, that I could have gotten my 1/2 torque wrench in there.
I can't imagine that it would be anymore than 10-15 ft/lbs.
regards,
Steve

My 88 911 Targa has similar symptoms you described in your earlier post about cold start rough idle and acceleration.
Let me know if replacement of the head temp sensor helps out. I live in Columbus Ohio and it gets plenty cold here.
Thanks,
Randy

no need for torque, just use the socket and snug it down, not too tight though just a firm little pull, I have used the socket but I have a 14mm wrench that I opened a slot for the wire with a grinder so you can get a better "feel"

Good advice from Fixnprsh and I'd just add that a real short 3/8" drive ratchet handle is a godsend for those who tend to tighten things a bit much.

Snap-On makes a dandy one that will last almost forever.

How did this go? Did it address your cold start/running issues?
