The 1974 911 came standard with one 66 ah. battery, with an optional 88 ah. battery. I use a Duralast from Autozone which fits well in my '81SC, has the ridges for the retaining bracket (same as '74 bracket) to latch onto, and something like a 7 year warranty.

Before you buy a conventional battery for your car, consider a sealed-type like the Optima. They cost a bit more, and need an adapter plate to fit into a 911, but offer long life and freedom from acid leak damage.
