I am curious if this is a reality I thought the early S was HT only. I have someone trying to sell me a 911S targa, I am skeptical. Thanks for any help.

1967 was the first year of the soft window Targa. If the car has a fixed glass window, it isn't original. Other valuable, original 1967 911S features include the low back sport seats and the 14 x 4 1/2 Fuchs.

Rob,
Targas were produced from December 1966.The chassis number will tell you - the 1967, 911S Targas were: 500001S - 500718S however, something screwy hapenned with the numbering because it is believed that only 483 were produced! If it's a genuine soft rear window in good condition it's worth quite a bit - they are very rare.
