Default Mid America Motorworks Complaint

Over the weekend I placed an order with Mid America for a small part. The part was not available through Rennlist or Pelican.

I recieved a conformation e-mail today. The shipping charge was $26.99 which included $5.00 for "rush" handling which I did not ask for. I was told to expect the package in 7-10 business days. When I called them I was told that shipping charges are based on the cost of the merchandise as opposed to the weight. In this case the part as a oil line from the oil tank to the motor for a 911 Carrera and $26.99 is a rip off

Why are you posting this complaint here? Why don't you resolve this with MAM?

If you haven't already, you should call Mid-America and ask for a credit for the $5 rush fee that you didn't request. It sounds like they told you the basis for shipping charges, and you accepted that. I agree that dollar-based shipping isn't always the best way to go., however, there are also other vendors too. If the shipping charges are totally repulsive, cancel the order or return the part, and ask for other sources here.
