might i suggest quick trip overthe TAPPAN ZEE bridge to Rennwerke - 914-592-4006, (in elmsford ,1st exit over bridge).
'cheech' fernandez is a very knowledgeable guy (can be crusty) a trip to his place will be very reassuring - possibly 25 911's in the lot , along w/ usually 3 or 4 immaculate 356's and usually a couple of track cars on the lifts being prepped.
(keep youreye out for the occasional exotic, also - last 2 times i was there he had a gorgeous MB300 gullwing and then a 1968 aston martin DB2 that was immaculate in for tunes)./

The best mechanic I know.
My recommendation would be Tony Henderson who owns Performance Plus in Edison N.J. (201 337-5678). He has done all the work on my 911 for twenty years and is an outstnading mechanic and person. He does all his own machine work and the shop is like an operating room. And he knows all the tricks to make 911s really sing. You won't be disappointed.
Good luck in your search.
