84 3.2 Idle Positioner, what is it exactly?
I have had fluctuating idle problems.( 84 Carerra Cab 3.2 - 62,000miles ) new Cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, air filter and most recently a new O2 sensor ( a universal O2 sensor ) . The idle fluctuation was still there. Cleaned the intake, butterfly, Tubes, air sensor intake etc. Still there. Unplugged the Idle postioner and the car idles smoothly now. ? What exactly does this little relay do ? And what happens when it is unplugged ? If it is faulty or shorts what symptoms might it cause ?
