Thanks for all the information. So far so good.

I am still not that impressed with the brilliance of the H-4's. I thought these things were supposed to be quite bright. Winter is coming and I need plenty of light for night time back-road driving. Admittedly I am running the lower wattage bulbs (55/65W). I have the higher watts and plan to pop them in just to see before putting the work into the relay installation.

Any experiences with the higher wattage?

I run Cibie H-4 euro lens and Narva 130/100w.

relays, new big wires, high heat bulb sockets, 3M Stoneguard lens protectors.

Visit the Dan Stern Lighting site.

100w lows is doable because our cars are low. If 100w low on an SUV you'd blind traffic. The point is not to over-drive your lighting on dark roads.

Hey JES1680,

You ever find any help on removing the ignition switch? My '78SC switch just died. It's been sticking on and off for the past few months and yesterday the key finally stuck. So it looks like I'm gonna be replacing my switch too.... not sure where to start though and can't find much on the list.

A belated and dumb question, but I'll ask anyway:

where exactly is the starter and more precisely the starter solenoid on the vehicle? I need to check mine as well and could not find it with a quick visual. Do I need to remove anything? I assume I'll have to jack the car - which side is best?

Thx

pass. side of trans. w/ solenoid on top

a lift is nice... use 4 jack stands with all safety precautions (that's ALL)
