Default Paint damage question

Hi all. The previous owner of my car had a leaky sunroof at one point and stored his car briefly with a garbage bag over the sunroof. When he removed the bag there was a faint mark left where the bag made contact with the paint, it doesn't look like it ate at the surface really it almost looks like at oil film. some chemicals in the bag I suppose. He washed and waxed with no luck. Is this something maybe rubbing compound could tackle?

Thanks,

Nix

I would give it a try, but start with something mild. I use Griot's Fine Hand polish and it won't burn thru the paint.

You may be able to get it with some judicious color sanding and mild buffing.
