Default m491

Is there a m491 forum? I have a 1985 m491. It just received a beautiful new paint job, an overhauled engine, overhauled transmission with an internal gated shifter, Fiske wheels added, new headliner, and electric AC. The car is spectacular. I have been watching BAT and it is hard to speculate on value... I see them all over the place. Is the new paint going to negatively affect value? I have no plans to sell, but was just wondering how upside down I might be?

You need to post some photos. Sounds like a great looking car.

Yes more pics please! That's going to look badass when finished.
I do not know the color though.

Having vinyl strips placed. Here is a major hint to the color.

Maybe White Gold Metallic? It would be color code 539.

TY Mark. I believe that is correct. As best I can tell, that was a PTS or special order color?

I don't think so. From the Rennbow site it seems to be a fairly common color.

There should be a paper option sticker under the front hood. Sometimes PTS is code 999.

Friend of mine sold his black 84 491 at a traffic light three years ago … guy in the car next to him said he was interested and handed over his business card, anyhow he called the guy out of curiosity after a few weeks and the guy offered him 60K as is , no PPI or anything inspection !
He was planning on selling it anyways so i guess the offer was good for him.I’m sure your car nowadays is worth way more and it sounds like a keeper !

Cheers
Phil

That color / paint job looks incredible BTW. Anything you can share on what you got done / where / how? Did you take it down to bare metal?

Charles Degand in OKC (actually Tuttle, OK) did the paint. He has done over 20 SEMA cars. It is a nice paint job. The front left quarter panel was prepped to bare metal. The others did not need to be.
