Hey folks,
I need help deciphering an engine code. An engine somehow made its way into my life and I'd like to know what it is and if it's worth anything. I've been trying to find a decoder website, but I haven't had any luck. The number is *6108648* (or possibly 6708648). I think it's a 1970 and it's kinda small. It looks like it's in good shape. I was hoping to offer it to a mechanic I know in exchange for some work. If he's not interested, maybe I'll rebuild it and clean it up... I don't know. Anybody have any idea what I'm dealing with?

Sounds like it is a 2.2 1970 911E engine from what I can find.

Any idea what an engine like that (in good shape) is worth? Say you were looking for one of those and you found it at a salvage place... what would you expect to pay? I know that's a tougher question.
