Default Removing Paint Over Spray on Rubber (Carrera Tail)

Hi Folks,
I'm adding a Carrera tail to my 86 911. Unfortuately the tail I purchased is red, but my 911 is black so I'm pulling the tail apart to have a local shop repaint it. The last paint job was horrible, and some red paint made it on the rubber lip of the spoiler - a bad taping job. Anyway- does anyone have suggestions as to how to hamlessly remove the red paint off the rubber rim on the spoiler.

TIA,
Ron

Plain lacquer thinner or the one thing that removes most everything, gas.

Gas! My kids and wife would get a charge out of that one :-) I use that line all the time for clean-up. Best of all it works. I have also tried a clay bar, but not with any soap, so that's worth a try. I'm a little concerned about the gas as I don't want to damage the rubber or leave a stain. I'll give the clay/soap and lacquer thinner a try.

Thanks for tips folks!
Ron

With a little bit of finger nail scraping and rubbing with the lacquer thinner that seemed to do the trick. Thanks again everyone for the replies. A happy tail rim now awaits a repainted spoiler.
