Unhappy Wedge bolts stuck

Thought I would save the $400 my mechanic wants to replace the ball joints on my SC.

I've this before to replace a strut, but the but the wedge bolts won't come out!
I've tried penetrating oil, a hammer, even heated it with a torch. I tried to press it out with a big c-clamp, but I can't get it out! I have competely destroyed one with a hammer.

Any ideas?

I just did the ball joints on my 84. They are compression seated. You need penetrating oil, heat( tte rubber melted on mine and the hot grease does run out) then let it cool a bit and most importantlya 3-5 lb mallet and most importantly a Ball joint pickle fork. I bought one at Sears, but they are readily available at NAPA etc.
regards,
Steve

I used a sledge hammer to free mine. Good luck.

Use a ball joint (pickle fork) you'll destroy stuff otherwise.
