Compression results question
Hi all,
I'm wondering how these compression results compare.
On my prePI, the shop said my 87 911 was at:
190, 195, 190, 190, 195,190. These seem pretty high compared to many others I've seen. But since they are so similar I think these are good regardless of the actual values.
Most others I've seen for these cars are more like: 150, 150, 155, 150, 160, 155.
Are mine higher perhaps because the shop turned the crank and extra turn than others? Or did I possibly just luck into an amazing engine (with 97k miles).
Thanks,
-Steve

Hi Steve:
There are many factors that influence the total readings, but the most important thing is the consistency of the results.
Those look very good to me and I always follow that up with a leakdown test.
