Hello, I'm new to porsches and I'm trying to find out exactly what my newly acquired project is. Thank you very much for any help. Sorry for the bad pic quality.

Congrats! I don't think we're going to be able to help you from out here with that picture. You might try using this resource, and there are others out there, which is what we'd use. Good luck!

You should type out the number in your post as its barely legible in that picture. I can make out that it appears to be a 74 911

I think this might be a ROW 1974 Carrera 2.7 MFI car. Is the VIN 91146xxxxx? If it is, easily worth six figures. Does it have the engine?

Type out the VIN so we can see the entire number, and the engine type/serial number.

That 10-digit VIN plate indicates a 911SC G series, but the year digit in the VIN appears to be 4, which is inconsistent with an SC.

I was thinking the same thing, but if you Google “1974 ROW Carrera VIN plates” you’ll find more examples that look just like this.

Vin is 9114600632. Car is basically complete. Does have some rust but nothing I can't fix. Engine hasn't ran in 20 years but was drove regularly before it was parked.

Yes sir it does have the engine. It's pretty much a complete car.

wow id love to see more pics, this looks to be an exciting project.

See that giant fan ,, on the right side where it meets the engine .. on the engine you will see the engine serial number , that might be good too.. its on a boss on the casing right where the fan meets it, it should have a star before and after it .
but 9114600632 according to my records was built from August 73 to July of 74. It is considered a Carrera and 1036 of these were built. It should have engine number 6640001 t0 6641456 ( 911/83 ) engine.

If i am reading my data correctly it should be a Coupe , is it ?

that must be a ROW car as it looks like it has mechanical fuel injection so the 2.7 210 Hp engine. . It was the top of the line car of its day .. the US version Carrera had CIS 210 HP engine I believe. The regular S of the day had the 175 HP CIS engine.

Of course people who know more than me could correct all this info.
