Happy New Year,

Just wondering if anyone has seen this Instagram profile/seller named @porsche_parts_and_accessories, and if so if they have actually purchased anything off him?

I ask as he has some good deals and when I was looking to buy a Classic Porsche radio he was selling, he wanted to go through paypal and the name of the account didn't seem legit. He says his shop is called "Marks Auto Parts" in California and that his website is under construction.

Surely this is a scam as his prices for stuff are cheap.....

If it’s too good to be true … it usually is !
Scammers are a real creative breed and they will find multiple ways to screw people …

It's definitely a scam. There are about 500 variations on that name that exist and they are all the same scammer group. I have a friend who is an actual air-cooled parts seller (Efren, goes by air-cooled exclusive on instagram) and he's found hundreds of them as mentioned above. Whatever you do, don't send any money to those accounts.

Smart play by them - preying on our addictions and non-methodical spending when it comes to 911's!

Efren’s a good guy and he was one of the early singer employees (within the first 5 for sure). If you live in LA, he’ll also deliver for free usually.

There was another such on Instagram until a few days ago, posted a lot of goodies.

went by Porsche_4_Parts or something similar, just checked a minute ago and his account is gone.

I almost bought from him and his prices were too good as well. What I didn't feel comfortable about was his knowledge about the parts, but he did have a lot of detailed pictures.
e.g. he didn't know the correct wheel offset for the wheel part number. He posted radiator hoses for sale which he couldn't explain. things like that.

Now his account is gone, I am sure he made a lot of money and then vanished after recent posts.

Quite a few of the early guys left and started their own businesses, especially after Rob took in funding from outside and new leadership came in.

Efren was always a parts guy, even back at Singer, so it's not like he was a metalworker, etc and decided to jump ship. He usually has VERY competitive prices - I've personally purchased 964 F/R bumpers in black (in amazing condition, which is rare these days) and a set of revalved (with Bilstein inserts) Boge front struts and Bilstein green rears for my 3.2 targa. Everything is always in great shape and can be delivered quickly if I need it.

To answer another question, I'm pretty certain he does ship to Canada.
