Agree on all this. Whoever buys this car is realistically going to be paying for it as a parts car. There's no way to make the math work in terms of making it worth someone's while to fix the rust problems, interior, etc. If someone offers 20k, take it.

I don't hate the idea of leaving my Targa for parts just at the same time as they take my keys away. That's a life well-lived.

Its hard to put a value on this one as the condition of the mechanical are hard to figure out due to your uncles dementia. I think 20K is low and there is no way I would call it a parts car. Running 3.2 engines are selling for 14-20K and yours is the highest HP 3.2 made with 231HP stock . Used transmissions that work are 2-4K so the engine and transmission are worth 20K. Probably worth paying to have an inspection done like you were doing a PPI and include a leak down. This will give you a better idea of the mechanical condition. Rust is probably the biggest issue to fix but not everyone wants a perfect pristine car and for someone looking for a DIY project this might be a decent starting point. Not everyone drops their car off at a shop with a wad of cash to have things fixed.
