Thanks, I assume it has something to do with the spring loading of the 5-R gate.

it actually just stops you going into reverse when down shifting into fourth.. its a very simple little doohickey. i saw i was hanging up on that too when i tried to pull out of 5th and getting stuck , that's why i did the adjustment and knew it would fix it for you.
