How common are these straps and their placement on my 78 SC? I think the detail looks so sweet, but I have never seen another SC with the same...was this rare?

They often tear out. On the SC the male end is a short strap fastened with the top screws that hold the rear parcel shelf. The female is on a short leather strap fastened to the back of the seat. At least my 1979 is like that-coupes might have been different.

I think all 911’s had these until at some point the 3.2L cars had a pin down by the seat hinge to secure the seats up. Maybe 1987.
