I recently bought an 88 Coupe with 120k on the clock
The car is in really nice shape. Turbo tie rods, nice paint etc.
I paid $17,000 for the car.
How much would u have to spend to get a stock car to be comparable to the one you are looking at? Would u do exactly the same or choose different options?
If you think about it 17k + 6.5k of the engine rebuild is 23.5k.... Plus all the other extras... Sounds like ok to me.... As long as you are looking for such a car.
For example I think my car would go for another 20k without any engine trouble...

It's always difficult to price cars that have been modified/"upgraded" a lot.
I think u can find a really high mileage car that is in nice condition for 15k. Then perform an engine rebuild for 5k and do the upgrades u want and stay below $25k. Then again if you have the money but not the time and this car is sweet....

Tough decision.

Also I forgot.... If u ever decide to do some PCA Club Racing some of the modifications on this car will not be allowed in its stock class (I believe it's F-class). So keep it in mind....
I am toying myself with the idea of DEing and eventually get into CR... so I am holding off on every upgrade until I know what I really need and what is allowed in the different classes....
