Default Case bolt torque 1971 911T

Looking for the outside case bolt torque specs for a 1971T. I have a small oil leak at the seam and I want to check the tension to see if it can be eliminated. Thank you. John

one thing about case seam leaks... i would be very careful , here . small oil leaks will always go to the seam as its the lowest spot. I would try some dye to be sure first as thin small oil leak can be hard to spot but will always go to the seam.

OK thanks. I have a spec book coming. And thanks for the tip on the leak. I'll check with dye or something to make sure.

In a pinch, I have found this to be accurate when I didn't have the spec book or other source handy: http://www.torkspec.com/torkspec.aspx

I believe that is not correct: That sounds like it's for the M10 crankcase through bolts, not the OPs pictured (M8)13mm lock nuts around crankcase (there are 22 nuts). I believe the spec for the 13mm nuts on a 2.2 is 23 n/m, or 17 ft/lbs.

Good to keep a reference for maximum torque per bolt size/type handy to double check any torque spec you look up, or if you can't find it. There are different specs for dry and lubed but these are in the ballpark. Generally the bolts on the 911 are 8.8 grade, though there are exceptions.

yes definitely for the M-10, OP said case bolts and i don't see pics so i provided spec for bolts ..

perimeter case nuts ( M-8 ) are 25 N/M
