I have not had mine appraised and looking at competitive insurance rates to Hagerty but they all want an appraisal to get to an agreed value so I guess that will have to be done soon. Right now Hagerty is at ~$800 annual for $43k cash value (paid).
Just for reference: I am with Grundy with my 1989 Cab and the agreed value is $65k and its only $430 annually and i have a 18 year old still on my plan. I am in Alabama, so that probably makes it a little cheaper than normal. Might want to shop it around a bit....and no appraisal, just photos of the car in my garage.

I’ve been shopping prices and my agent for the daily drivers is also checking for rates and said she needs an appraisal, not sure if I checked Grundy but will add them to my list. I’m going to get an appraisal anyways since I’ve done a lot to improve it over the last year.

Nathan Merz.

He is without question one of the most (if not the most) knowledgeable authorities on Porsches. And in addition to that, he is a truly great person.

Good luck....i was surprised that Grundy didn't ask for an appraisal.

I submitted my application on Grundy today and with excellent credit and driving record with $1k deductible, no track and $70k agreed value they quoted $802.00 and that’s with a 100k comprehensive which is not enough coverage. Not sure how anyone else is getting better deals and starting to think that maybe it’s a Florida thing.

I considered going with Grundy prior to going with Hagerty's.

The driving / use restrictions with Grundy did not work for me.

Based on my recent quotes, Grundy has no mileage restrictions and you can take it just about anywhere you want, and Haverty’s has a 2k mile restriction annual with conditions.

There is no set "restriction" on miles with Hagerty.

You specify the amount of use / miles you anticipate. They calculate the rate based on the amount of usage that you indicate.

Let’s be clear that Grundy has no mileage restrictions as Hagerty does. I’ll call my carrier (Hagerty) and ask why they have a mileage restriction on mine and fairly certain they had same on my 1970 Chevelle SS concourse as well. Additional note is that Grundy let me set the agreed value to whatever I wanted and increased their quoted rate with the price. All I had to do was show pics of matching drivetrain and recent car pics.
