intermittent stalling 1989 Carrera 911
Good Morning,
I have searched and read everything about this issue,......replaced a bunch of parts, but yet it is still happening. Car runs great. Idles at 880. 3/4 times a week while sitting at a red light it will just die. I will try to start 3-4 times and nothing (no tach movement at all)...finally it will fire up and perform perfectly. I bought a new DME relay (URO Brand). My indy said they are the worst! It already had a URO brand in it and it looked newly changed by the previous owner. Still stalls with the new DME. I have now ordered the solid state one from Focus9. Hard to believe that 2 URO DME's would be bad but i guess its possible. My indy adjusted the idle and cleaned the ICV. Radio has been cutting out some too.
Things replaced in the last 2000 miles:
battery
distributor cap and plug wires
charging system checked and ok
new alternator
fixed short in wiring harness
new alarm control module
replaced RPM sensors
Am i missing something?

Looking from very far away, I would say that for some reason your battery power is cut. You say that your radio and tach cut out also.
If this is the case, check the fuse block in front left side.
You could measure the voltage above the fuses to see if there is some bad connections. Remove the fuses and check connection ends. Sometime it help
if you just rotate the fuses.

New solid state DME relay installed. Still dying at least 1 out of 20 stops. Starts back up on the second or third try and then runs great.......Going into the shop next week. Coil connections also look good. Very Strange.
