Wow , the prices are crazy nowadays ...
Danny , you need to come evaluate my 89 for insurance purposes this Summer , i'm on your
way up to Tremblant !!!

Although i don't drive my car much i don't think i would consider selling it anytime soon.

Cheers
Phil

I'd take the same money and buy a Ferrari or Lambo or Maserati. these old 911s are great buy not for the money asking no IMO.
I don't know if it is repainted and the seller is so unreasonable that they won't let me have it inspected independently. It seemed to have only one owner though and there is extensive paper work which I haven't had time to read as it is a moot point at this point.

I just received my "new too me" 1989 911 Carrera Cabriolet. It is in really really nice original condition. It has 93K and most all the records. I paid $59,900. If i understand correctly the coupes and targa fetch more $$$$, so my guess on price would be mid 70's.

Nice 3.2. You did fine on price. Killing time during the pandemic, I tracked the big 3 online auction sales (plus other sales I found out about) of the 3.2 cabs, both 915s and G50s. I would like to know a little more detail on your sale so I can include the sale in the database. I assume a private sale and I also need to know if is was 2021 or 2022. I excluded turbos, slant noses and other variants other than M491 and M470 options which I included.

For auctions the price includes the buyer's premium. I know a lot more cars changed hands privately but this is all I could come up. There is about an 8% premium for the G50 over the 915. You are right about the coupes selling for 10k more but I haven't tracked them.

Year Sales Average No Sale Price Change
2021 52 $59,035 9 19.48%
2020 32 $49,409 12 35.52%
2019 10 $36,458 6 -26.45%
2018 14 $49,571 5 45.91%
Pre-18 9 $33,974 5 n/a

Thanks Jim, I started the sale in 2021 but it was not finalized until Jan 14th 2022. It was on consignment at Victory Motorcars in Houston TX. It is a 2 owner car with the second owner having it for 28 years. i have all the records back to 2003. Victory had been servicing the car for those 28 years but had a software change and lost the 2003 and older records. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thank you, I will use it for 2022. I have enough information.

I have owned an 89 cab in the past and loved that car. I plan on keeping my 915, the 3.2s are great driving car.

Jim

premium for coupes currently is more than 10k. for low mileage (under 50k) more like 20 or 30 k usd. for almost all porsches coupes command a big premium as race car is coupe.
Wildcat: hoping for F1, maybe some spring skiing first

Default 1987 targa

I am personally amazed at the values of 911’s currently!
if you follow BAT you know what I mean
HAGERTY just valued my 1987 911 targa at 120k!
I am gob smacked!I have owned it since 1988
just did full resto and upgrade to a few modern bits as in lights and the Porsche classic radio with apple car play. Also 17 x8 and 17x9 rims Really love the car and upgrades! A shear joy to drive ! As my plate says RAWFUN!
I guess value is based on what someone is willing to pay. Personally the only value a car is to me is my enjoyment! The guy who dies with the most mileage wins!!
I’m not saving my car(s) for the next guy or my wife’s 2nd husband!

Haverty’s value seems just a bit high 😆

I found Hagerty's numbers for my car to be really off based on my auction aggregation results.
