Question Jacking one corner

Newbie owner needs to jack up left rear to get at Head temp sensor.

Is it advisable to jack up one wheel ( jacking under engine case) and put jack stand on torsion bar end and work from there?

Or should I jack up and support the whole left side or the whole rear to avoid twisting the body?

Thanks as always

Unless there is something very very wrong with your cars frame you won't be able to "twist" the car. Unlike most other cars, you can pick up one corner of a Porsche and the doors will still close exactly like they normally do.

The only thing to look out for is where you pick the car at. There are square jacking pads at the four corners of the tub, the lower suspension arms and the engine case. You can use the torsion tubes for the jackstands but I have never liked the idea (it just looks wrong to me). The rear jacking pads are right there so I use them.

Wink

Support the whole side, leave it on the jack and use stands for safety.
