Default Blinking Red Dash Light on ‘88 Carrera Coupe.

I can’t find mention of this dash light in any of my documentation. I’ve noticed it blinks every few seconds when the car is off. Any idea? Between tach & speedo.

Not original, likely a period installed alarm system (Ungo Box, Clifford, etc...) Dig thru the front trunk and you will likely find the brain and wiring.

Thanks, that gives me something to go on. I’ve dug through the frunk and couldn’t find an alarm system; I’ll pull it apart again and have another look.

I have a consult in a couple months with a well-liked local audio & electronics guy to undo some of PO’s decisions which I disagree with. I’ll add this to the list.

Just be cautious. I have heard stories of guys who think they identified their old alarm wiring and tried to remove it only to have instituted some kind of ignition kill switch. Have it professionally removed.

My aftermarket alarm control box was hidden under the passenger footboard. Along with 50+ wires that I will never remove as long as it starts everyday !!
