Yes, that should work. I recently installed the non CD version in my 928, and that is what I used.

Truth be told, I haven't spent any time in the car since I got it all back together. Was doing a full HVAC box reseal and new AC evaporator. The speakers were upgraded to "project nine" speakers before I got it, but I need to pull the drivers door speakers as there's definately something not right with that one. The previous head unit was all messed up, and would play out of the front speakers on radio, the rear channel on CD and only the right side on blue tooth. Weirdest failure mode I've ever seen. And it looked way too modern.

I have this deck in the non CD version in a Vanagon and bought another for my 911. I love it’s simplicity. While I’d love to have the $700 retro blaupunkt or $1200 oem classic, I rarely even turn music on so this is a great sanitary look and leaves some $ for other items on the car.
