Trying to value 73.5 Targa T
My dad passed away a few months ago and I am trying to help my mom sell some of his cars.
This one, as the title states, is a 73.5 Targa T, original engine and trans, ~40K original miles.
My dad bought it about 30 years ago, I believe he is the 3rd owner. He only drove it to car shows and events or for a weekend trip.
I had the car for about 6 years, he needed space for another build, and I only logged a few hundred miles in that time to keep it exercised.
It was painted sometime in the 80's before he bought it, I don't know that the grey paint below the bumpers is how it was originally, but I suspect it is not.
He got the car from California and it had no rust or accidents. He always took care of it, it was his gem, it has spent most of the last 30 years under a cover.
I last saw it a few months ago and some of the bright work needs polishing, some of the rubber seals look a little cracked, but overall it is in excellent shape.
Thanks in advance for any info you can shed to help me help my mom out in this difficult time.

These are all pictures I took when I had it in my barn for storage.

Sorry for your loss. That car is stunning, too bad you can't keep it. I'm curious to see what folks more knowledgeable than me think it's worth. My guess is north of $70K, maybe pushing $100K.

Thanks Mark. That was the range I was thinking. I have the original steering wheel as well. I was hoping to keep it, but it's not looking like that will happen.
Probably heading to BAT with it.

As you suspected, the bumper should be blue as well but it's not hard to paint it correctly. Otherwise it looks mostly original and in great shape with a great color. Good luck with the sale.

See what Early911S.org (I think is their site) says. You can likely sell it on there also.
Are you sure you don't want to keep it? Like you said it was his baby, so should have a lot of sentimental value.

The CIS T tend to be worth a bit less. Value is highly variable, depends on mechanical and cosmetic conditions. A top condition restored T will be well north of 100k. A top condition low mile unrestored T all numbers matching original everything will sell for even more.
Value as it sits will depend on known condition, rust, mechanical, and cosmetic condition.
As it sits, just on pictures: 50-70k
Spend a few bux to clean it up, a full PPI with compression/leak, address any issues and you could be looking at a lot more. Especially if the miles are fully documented at 40k (these speedos only record 99k miles) and the car is unrestored original condition (you do indicate a repaint, factory color?)

Sorry for your loss looks like your Dad took great care of his car that tends to be somewhat of a rare color blue and looks I great shape!
as a prior poster mentioned the CIS or 73 1/2 911 non mechanical injection engined cars tend to get somewhat less in demand and value
than their earlier year MFI counterparts .
not by much but some I guess related to a lower horsepower rating but there are some you prefer these for easier starting and general
overall reliability .
This was the first edition with this form of injection and it was followed successfully in '74 - '83 so the next decade basically.
Cannot comment much more than the earlier posters if you have to let it go try and get it evaluated independently for insurance purposes
(appraisal) also check eBay and bring a trailer but likely $55k -$75k with substantiating mileage docs possibly more ...Bert

I'm far from an expert on longhoods, but I think at $50k that car would be gone within minutes and instantly flipped.

I agree with Spyerx, if miles can be documented a huge plus.
