Hi fellow rennlisters. I've done plenty of searching on google as well as the forums but most of the information was either from 2004 or specific to Britain AND from 2004...
I have a baby on the way (yay, I did it!). Already started planning on how to have the little one grow up in a 911 and put aside some money for a new clutch for when the driving lessons finally happen. I'm hoping someone local to the LA area (but if not that is ok) can provide me some insights on current available child seats that work rear facing in the front of a sport seats equipped 3.2 carrera and can also be used front facing in the rear of the car for when the little one has grown a bit. Any and all input welcome as I know the options are limited for a 30 year old + german sports car.
I have a Cybex Aton 2 that just fits rear-facing in the back of my 84 Targa. The passenger seat has to be most (but not all) of the way forward on its tracks.
I use the rear lap belt to secure the seat; removing the rear seat back creates a bit more legroom. The system the seat comes with is quite robust for how compact it is. The base even has a leg for the footwell, but I have had little luck with it. Using the base in the 911 places the seat up too high.
